Vigit

A website and Mobile app that connects business owners to professional freelancers

Duration: 8 weeks | My role: UX Designer | Team of 2 People

Context

Vigit connects business owners to freelancers via a user-friendly platform. Freelancers showcase portfolios, enhancing connections with businesses. Clients post projects and review freelancer profiles for collaboration.

I was part of this project to design the Vigit experience, empowering freelancers and clients to efficiently manage and deploy projects.

Here is the loop and questions that we searched for in the design thinking process:

Problem Statement

Business problem: The company aimed to establish a user-friendly platform that facilitates the connection between freelancers and clients.

But who are the users? Let's define this problem around target users
as we can find from the statement the potential users are two groups: Freelancers and Clients

The user-centered problem

Freelancers face challenges expanding their project scope and reaching a wider market, primarily because there's no centralized platform for showcasing their qualifications and work. Additionally, their ability to handle more projects is diminishing due to inadequate management.

Business problems to human-centered problems

In order to define the user-centric solutions we had to identify the user problems that underlie the business problem.

Start The Loop

To find enough clarity to decide on the best thing to do, we work around users and their needs. To get closer and closer to understanding users we conducted research on two groups of end users and know them deeper:

Persona

To understand the situation, recognize where it can be improved, and then create a better future for the people involved we created a persona based on user research to have a better understanding of who we are designing for.

Card Sorting

In order to enhance the intuitiveness of website navigation by organizing various sections, we conducted 14 remote card sorting sessions involving potential users. Two of the sessions were pilot card sorting that we used to improve the cards.

Based on the results of the research and card sorting, we developed the site map in which I architected the information in a map:

Design and test

We iterated many times in designing and testing wireframes to reach the best design. Here is one of the iterations that we had in the website’s homepage design:

01

In the mobile format for freelancers, they can efficiently oversee projects and connections. This includes managing project progress, tracking the percentage of completion for each project, and categorizing proposals.

02

The calendar displays freelancers' upcoming meetings, deadlines, and reminders, offering a solution for effective time management.

03

The finance management feature allows freelancers to track their earnings and the flow of income over past months, providing a concise report on their work.

04

The homepage is crafted to familiarize users with the marketplace and its services. It achieves this by showcasing the monthly top-ranked freelancers as rated by clients.

05

Every category page is meticulously designed to facilitate filtering based on factors such as field, price, deadline, and other essential features. Furthermore, clients are provided with the ability to effortlessly search for freelancers based on their location and area of expertise, allowing them to ascertain the number of available freelancers in their particular geographic region.
